Il Museo pesa è un progetto di public art immaginato da Umberto Cavenago, Gianni Macalli e Giancarlo Norese nel 2008.
Nell’estate del 2008, incontrandoci accidentalmente e dovendoci cimentare con la tecnica dell’affresco, è nato il desiderio di avviare un progetto che potesse andare oltre il semplice gesto artistico, e che aspirasse a suggerire un modello di collaborazione riconducibile alle pratiche sociali più innovative.
Affascinati dai colori dilavati, dalle trasparenze e dalle piccole testimonianze del tempo che scorre in silenzio, in assonanza con la corrente del fiume, senza la pervasività dei segni urbani, ci siamo associati alla calma e ai vuoti della pianura, che creano le condizioni ideali per rallentare e poter pensare alla qualità dei gesti e delle relazioni.
Il Museo pesa è uno spazio vuoto il cui contenuto sarà da ricercare all’esterno, è un segnale rosso che ci aiuterà a immaginare il futuro con invenzioni e progetti.

“Il Museo pesa” is a public art project conceived by Umberto Cavenago, Gianni Macalli and Giancarlo Norese in 2008.
Il “Museo pesa” in Crotta d’Adda
The first step towards the establishment of “Il Museo pesa” is the creation of a book documenting the past events of “Crotta Dipinta”, and presenting a new project dedicated to the people and territory of Crotta d’Adda.
The titleCrotta Dipinta e altre visioni. Un progetto di arte pubblica a Crotta d’Adda underlines the rethinking of the relationship between contemporary art practices and the development needs of communities and local governments.
In the summer of 2008, when we met accidentally and had to experiment with the technique of frescoes, the desire arose to start a project that could go beyond mere artistic gestures, and that aspired to suggest a model of collaboration that could be traced back to the most innovative social practices.
Fascinated by the washed-out colours, by the transparencies and by the small testimonies of time passing silently, in accord with the current of the river, without the pervasiveness of urban signs, we associated ourselves with the calm and emptiness of the plain, which create the ideal conditions to slow down and to be able to think about the quality of gestures and relationships.
"Il Museo pesa” is an empty space whose content will be searched outside, it is a red light that will help us imagine the future with inventions and projects.
