Steel and magnetic spheres
60 × 24 × 120/180 cm
Stability and change
Untitled with sphere is a work that explores the dynamics of movement and immobility through an essential composition. Consisting of four black steel wheels, devoid of axle and load, the work takes the form of an assemblage that plays with the idea of unexpressed potential.
Arranged symmetrically and joined by two small spherical magnets, the wheels establish a precarious balance. This juxtaposition highlights the fragility of the structure, evoking a feeling of impending dynamism. The wheels, despite their immobility, seem ready to break free from stasis, suggesting a constant tension between stability and change.
The choice of black steel gives the work a sense of gravity, while the symmetry of the wheels refers to an apparent order, continually threatened by the possibility of movement. Cavenago invites the viewer to reflect on themes of transformation and uncertainty, highlighting how art can capture the moment suspended between what is static and what could be.
Untitled with sphere is a symbol of waiting and possibility, a work that stimulates reflection on fragility and the imminence of action, transforming an everyday object into a moment of introspection and contemplation.
