A solid linearity
Senza Titolo n.180 presents itself as a work at the intersection of sculpture and design. Made of oxidised steel and fitted with four turned aluminium wheels, the sculpture simultaneously evokes the image of a vehicle and an architecturally inspired construction element. The steel bar, with its linearity and solidity, suggests a practical function, while the aluminium wheels lend a sense of mobility and lightness. This contrast between stability and dynamism invites reflection on the relationship between form and function, emphasising how art can dialogue with everyday life.
The work can be moved, it is not static, and this dynamic aspect allows it to be considered not only as an art object, but as an active part of the space in which it is located. Cavenago, through this interaction, questions the use and enjoyment of art, prompting the viewer to explore the context surrounding it. This work summarises Cavenago's research in rethinking the art object as a living element, capable of interacting with our environment. With an essential language, it invites us to discover the connections between art, space and life, revealing how sculpture can expand our perception of the world.
